From a time before Trade Me, Todd’s Auction House in Invercargill was legend. Bill Todd was a fourth generation auctioneer. His family had been selling at the Rialto Auction Rooms since 1865.

You’d be forgiven for thinking, in 2006, that it would be there forever. However when Bill Todd retired in 2011 the building was sold and slated for demolition. In 2017 a modern office block opened in its place, including a café called The Auction House.
