In the pink

Before taking a big break to repair my home in 2022, I wanted to play whimsically to make pieces that would work well in the six pink frames that I’d discovered in a box left over from my recently closed business.

Inktense block, pigment ink pen, Dutch gold, and Fabriano paper comprise these compositions. Each  component contributes to the texture, depth, and overall appearance of the artworks.

Inktense’s vivacity is complemented by the fine details and intricate line flowing from pigment ink pens.  The permanent, lightfast ink ensures that the fine line-work remains crisp and vibrant over time. I like the way the Dutch gold adds opulence and luminosity that interacts with the vibrant colors of the Inktense.

Making the collection started as my builder commenced what we thought would be a simple and straight-forward repair of the floors in the older part of our home. Eventually, I had to close my studio in order to project manage what ended up being the extensive repair of the floors in my home.

Despite this slow down I determined I’d debut this series. Therefore, I launched a Facebook campaign, but was expelled from the platform three days later when a hacker posted nasty stuff on my Facebook. Of course, this meant my Instagram page was killed, too.

At the end of 2025, and conceivably into 2026, I’ll be finishing my “Pinky” series, a group of 6 small works that have metamorphosed many times over the past few years in order to transform into the direction I am now taking my creative design.

When I debut the final “Pinky” works  I will also relaunch “In the Pink” at special email-only prices. Join my email to be informed when that drops.
