Introducing ‘Bounce and Hop’
‘Bounce and Hop’ encapsulates the essence of movement, energy, and rhythm. Endeavouring to create a dynamic interplay between elements that seems to bounce with life was my aim. It is a work in my ‘Moving On‘ collection. Using rhythm, which is closely related to movement and energy, I employed repetition and variation of shapes, lines, and colours.
The Role of Oil-Based Printing for ‘Moving On’
There are many reasons I chose oil-based media. I love their vibrancy and ability to maintain colour integrity over time. The incredibly slow drying time of oil-based ink, in particular, gave me opportunity for revision and refinement of my technique, which proved beneficial in creating this series.
Interpreting ‘Bounce and Hop’
The meaning of ‘Bounce and Hop’, ultimately is influenced by the viewer’s personal experiences, background, and attitudes. I hope it evokes a multitude of reactions.
