The Wabi Sabi collection arose from a period of restlessness alongside an awareness of impending change. In longing to return to my studio part-time, and, as a way to relax from running my business, in the evenings I’d layered Inktense and masking fluid repetitiously on small cards made of Fabriano paper. Outlining real and imagined shapes with pigment ink proved satisfying.

Originally named ‘Minutiae’, I changed the name to its current, because I filled rips left on the paper from removing the masking fluid with metallic gold paint. I like the idea of celebrating the imperfect.
