Driving foreshore from Riverton to Oreti Beach in Invercargill was an impromptu delight this past Sunday.
What a magical journey. Warned that we could get stuck where the Waimatuku Stream empties into the Foveaux Strait, we opted to make the journey at low tide in our new-to-us Santa Fe four wheel drive. The drive to Riverton usually takes 30 minutes by driving north on State 6 and turning left at State 99 to the sleepy coastal town.
I’m reminded of an earlier drive to Oreti Beach to watch the sun setting over Riverton-Aparima way from the northern part of Oreti Beach in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand.
The result from Day 15 is titled “Southland Skies – Oreti Beach Looking Over to Riverton.”
A BONUS BELOW is a 7 minute video of the drive on the foreshore. It is exclusive to those who read this blog.
