Oreti beach is perfect to watch spectacular cloud formations blow in from the Southern Ocean. Flat and long, the beach easily accommodates a drive on it to a favourite spot to watch the weather systems move in from the Antarctic from the comfort of your own car.
I love driving along Oreti Beach. Our municipal beach is considered a street of Invercargill, with traffic rules. Yes, the police will obligingly issue tickets to those who speed or disrupt the enjoyment of the beach for the others,
