Spectacular cloud show out my studio window
Spectacular cloud shows seen from my window make it difficult to focus on creating art inside. Long white clouds scudding captivate.
…but it can me done! Pushing through obstacles and getting back into the studio to create meaningful art is a big part of who I’ve become in the past 30 years.

Amazing Invercargill skies can be easily viewed from Tramway Road and Rockdale. I often pull my car off to the shoulder for a good view of the city.
Driving foreshore from Riverton to Oreti Beach in Invercargill was an impromptu delight this past Sunday. What a magical journey.
Oreti beach is perfect to watch spectacular cloud formations blow in from the Southern Ocean. The flat beach lets you easily drive to your fave spot.
Southland skies are stunning! We’re a rainy and blustery lot down here. Thankfully, the difficult weather doesn’t hang around for long.
Stead Street Wharf inspired my Day 12 painting. As one of my favourite spots to cloud gaze, I chose one of many photographs of the cloud show.
Painting Southland skies was as challenging as they are amazing. Fantastic formations often compel me to steer off to the side of the road to enjoy the show.
